This seminar will address the core concepts of investments and real estate development in Qualified Opportunity Zones, including specific discussions of the substantial improvement and original use tests, the related party concept currently limiting the ability to structure investments, and other open ended issues, as well as trends among opportunity zone census tracts and the types of land uses being proposed therein, development timelines as they relate to the substantial improvement test, and state and local assistance available to achieve QOZ objectives.
