The angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord." — Luke 2:10-11

At Christmas it is true, “all roads lead home” (Marjorie Holmes). As the stressful and often-hectic pace of the fall semester gives way to the joy and relaxation of Christmas, I share these four hopes for you and all members of our Seton Hall community. I hope and pray that:

Your roads bring you and your loved ones safely home.

We grow in faith, like the kings who traveled from a distant land to bestow gifts on the newborn Christ.

We surround ourselves with the blessings of family and friends, who personify the love of God for His creation.

And we embrace the promise of Christmas, which is the savior of humanity who was born in a manger.

Renewed by the blessings of faith, love and hope, I look forward to continuing our shared Seton Hall journey in the new year.

You and your loved ones have my best wishes for a very merry Christmas and a joyous 2020.

May Christmas continue to be the tonic for our mind, heart and spirit.
