Catholic Studies Professor Publishes Youth Bible

Allan F. WrightCatholic Studies Adjunct Professor Allan F. Wright, M.A., a frequent guest on Relevant Radio and nationally known Catholic speaker, has written his 20th book: The New Catholic Bible for Youth, a St. Joseph Edition published by the Catholic Book Publishing Corporation. An extension of his passion for educating young people in the Catholic Faith, this publication is a way for Professor Wright to make the Good News accessible to Generation Z Catholics.

The New Catholic Bible for Youth has 25 attractive four-page inserts which help youth navigate the topics which they are confronted with in the 21st century as well as the basics of Catholic theology. The inserts offer readers the opportunity to see what the Bible says about the topic; to seek understanding about why the topic matters; to read inspiration from the lives of saints, spiritual writers, popes, and holy men and women; to glimpse the inspiration that the Church imparts; to discover ways to encounter God; to pray; and to reflect on questions that will help determine how they will live as disciples of Our Lord. The inserts provide young people with a go-to companion as they navigate through important life and faith questions and considerations.

Ines Murzaku, Ph.D., Director of the Department of Catholic Studies, hailed this book as “a valuable Bible for youth that delivers the truth of our faith in a way that’s relevant to young people. A sourcebook, based on the sources of the Catholic faith, it invites reflection and deep thinking, a path to spiritual growth and inner renewal.”

This is Professor Wright’s ninth book published by the Catholic Book Publishing Corporation. The New Catholic Bible for Youth grew out of his best-selling book, Daily Companion for Young Catholics, where he offers 366 daily reflections specifically geared toward youth. Rev. Pawel Tomczyk, Ph.D., Director of pastoral Formation and Assistant Professor of Moral Theology at Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology, was the Censor Librorum for the Bible project.

Wright earned his undergraduate degree at Seton Hall in 1986 and his M.A. in Sacred Scripture in 1997 from Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology. He currently teaches a course titled "The Spirituality of Work" for the Catholic Studies Department.

The New Catholic Bible for Youth is available from the Catholic Book Publishing Corporation and Amazon.
