For far too long biblical exegesis and theology have been completely separate scholarly
activities. In his latest book, Liturgy and Sacrament, Mystagogy and Martyrdom, Dr.
Jeffrey Morrow takes a look at the history of Catholic biblical interpretation in
order to move forward to a theological biblical interpretation that takes the best
of traditional and contemporary historical exegesis as a guide.
About the Speaker:
Dr. Morrow teaches a wide range of courses in Catholic Theology at Immaculate Conception
Seminary School of Theology, including The Theology of Pope Benedict XVI, The Theology
of the Old Testament, The Eucharist, and Ecclesiology. His research focuses on the
history of biblical interpretation and theological exegesis. He is particularly interested
in the union between Catholic theology and Catholic biblical scholarship.
