Meeting people and making an impact on his community are two of Kevin Sanchez's favorite aspects of life. Before graduating with his B.A. in psychology last May, Kevin completed four internships with the New Jersey State Police (NJSP). His goal was to pursue a career that would allow him to help people, and he is thankful that the experiences with NJSP challenged him to do just that.
Throughout his internships, Kevin worked within the Real Time Crime Center and Threat Analysis Unit. "One of my favorite aspects of interning was the ability to network with others. I really enjoy meeting police officers and other interns from across the country." In addition to his internships, Kevin stayed involved on campus. He served as the President of the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Student Organization where he developed a sense of duty to give back to the program that provides numerous opportunities to students across New Jersey. He was also the Community Service Chair of the student organization, Adelante, where he helped serve the Latino community on campus. Being involved with these organizations helped develop Kevin's ability to work efficiently with others, communicate ideas, and build relationships. Kevin is looking forward to continuing to serve the public in his future career in law enforcement. He recently entered the policy academy for Orange County Sheriff's Office in Florida and will work as a Deputy upon graduation.
