Jim Malgieri

James Malgieri '82
Executive Vice President, Head of Collateral Management and Segregation
BNY Mellon Markets

James (Jim) Malgieri walks and talks the values he learned at Seton Hall University.  His years at Seton Hall ignited a passion for finance and nurtured his leadership skills, which he has applied both in business and in the community.

A member of BNY Mellon's operating committee, Jim Malgieri heads the collateral management and segregation business of BNY Mellon Markets.  He was previously the CEO of the company's Broker-Dealer Services business and also served as a global product manager in that business.  Before joining BNY Mellon, Jim held various management roles at Lehman Brothers, Chase Manhattan Bank, Cantor Fitzgerald, and Morgan Stanley.

Jim has been a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York's Tri-Party Repo Infrastructure Task Force, the Securities Industry Association's (SIA) Ad Hoc Prime Broker Committee, the DTCC's Prime Broker Working Group, SIA's Operations Committee, and various committees at the Bond Market Association and Emerging Markets Clearing Corporation (the SIA and Bond Market Association combined to form SIFMA).  He was also a past Board member of BNY Mellon Clearing International Limited and the Government Securities Clearing Corporation (now the FICC).

Jim is generous with his time, experience and knowledge.  Having enjoyed a successful and respected career in financial services, Jim continues to provide his leadership abilities to the Seton Hall community, where he is a member of the President's Advisory Group, and he and his wife Vicki have endowed a scholarship to the Stillman School of Business.  Jim is also a member of the New York City Council at St. Joseph's University and a member of the Board of Visitors for the Erivan K. Haub School of Business at St. Joseph's University.
