Poetry-in-the-Round to Feature Emmy-nominated Author and Multimedia Producer  

Author, Alissa QuartThe first Poetry-in-the-Round event of 2018 will present critically acclaimed poet, nonfiction author and multimedia producer, Alissa Quart on Wednesday, February 7 at 7 p.m. in the Chancellor's Suite, University Center.

About the Author
Alissa Quart is the executive editor of the Economic Hardship Reporting Project. She is the author of four books, including a book of poetry, Monetized, and the nonfiction books Branded and Republic of Outsiders. Her fourth nonfiction book is forthcoming from Ecco/HarperCollins in 2018. Her poetry has appeared in The Nation, The London Review of Books, The Awl, Fence, and on NPR. She currently writes the Outclassed column for The Guardian and has written features for many magazines, including The Atlantic, as well as reported opinion pieces for The New York Times. She has taught at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism among other universities, and was a 2010 Nieman Fellow at Harvard University.

About the Series
Poetry-in-the-Round has brought some of the best contemporary writers from around the world to Seton Hall University for the past three decades. Some of those visitors have included Joyce Carol Oates, E.L. Doctorow, Nadine Gordimer, C.K. Williams, Jonathan Franzen, John Ashbery, Russell Banks, Adrienne Rich, and many others. The series has worked to bring established and up-and-coming new writers to the attention of Seton Hall students and the community. Dr. Nathan Oates, Associate Professor of English, is the Director of the Series; during his sabbatical, Cara Blue Adams is directing Poetry-in-the-Round.
