As a composer, guitarist, singer, and bandleader Fishman's exuberant and unvarnished music has made him a critically-acclaimed favorite of audiences worldwide. The All-Music Guide has called him "an important force in creative music," and The New York Times has written that his work "transcends time and idiom." Among Fishman's many musical albums there is one - No Further Instructions. The project combined original music, historical memoir, storytelling and photography to essay the true-life adventures of Howard Fishman and his childhood friend and New York Times travel writer Michael Benanav in far-flung Eastern Europe. During his appearance at Seton Hall and to mark the International Celebration Month, Howard Fishman will perform a few musical excerpts from that album in an intimate setting and discuss his travels in Romania.
