Last year, Seton Hall launched its first ever program developing professional connections in the insurance industry. Seton Hall Insurance Professionals (SHIP) has since facilitated connections for students and alumni who possess, or have an interest in pursuing, a profession in insurance through meaningful social, service, networking, interning and mentoring events.
Founded by three alumni, Anthony R. Slimowicz '87, Eric Rush '85 and the late Bob Kleppinger '90 representing Crum & Foster, Tokio Marine HCC – D&O Group, HUB International companies, respectively, SHIP is dedicated to bringing awareness to the insurance industry by informing and guiding current students and alumni on existing opportunities.
"The Seton Hall Insurance Professionals Group will allow our alumni to truly impact our current students by educating them on all the possible careers within the insurance industry and the rewards it holds" said John Borgese director of corporate alumni relations at Seton Hall.
A benefit to participating Pirates is the focus on and access to information about internship, permanent job and mentorship opportunities from experienced career professionals.
Representatives of the SHIP program will be available at the next career fair on Wednesday, September 26 at Seton Hall. Stop by to learn how you could have a bright future in this industry or join the online group in Pirate Connect, Seton Hall's exclusive digital networking platform at www.shu.edu/PirateConnect.
