Seton Hall Breaks Giving Day Record, Raising More Than $422,000

Members of the Student Alumni Association holding up letters spelling out The entire Setonian family rallied once again on behalf of students for Seton Hall's fourth annual Giving Day celebration, which took place on April 20-21. The fortitude displayed during the initiative resulted in 1,700 donors, which is a significant increase over last year, and a record-breaking total of more than $422,000, raising more than any other year since Seton Hall started its Giving Day tradition.

Since its inception in 2018, Giving Day continues to grow and has since garnered recognition as the biggest day of giving during the year for the University. "I am always so overwhelmed by the passion shown by our strong network of alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, friends, and clergy," says Anthony D. Bellucci, MBA '18 Associate Vice President of Alumni Engagement and Philanthropy. "This year, we have recorded our highest total in Giving Day history, which is profound and will make an exceptional difference in the lives of students. The celebration allows everyone to get involved to show their pride for Seton Hall, but also serves as a reminder and guiding motivation of the University's focus on prioritizing its students. I am excited to see Giving Day continue to grow in the future."

This year's Giving Day theme was one community and encouraged Pirates around the world to join together, united, in support of students, and to give back to the causes they care about. The campaign was a collaborative effort between University Advancement, Pirate Blue, and Seton Hall Law School, with the Pirate Blue Athletic Fund, Law Alumni Endowed Scholarship, and the Seton Hall Fund being among the areas receiving the greatest support. The record-breaking success the initiative acquired sets a new standard for the University's philanthropic efforts and will help make a transformative impact for current students.

Seton Hall's Student Alumni Association (SAA) got involved by hosting its Philanthropy Week, engaging in various activities all week leading up to Giving Day. Current students participated in efforts like Tag Day, where they placed tags around the campus displaying fun facts about past Giving Days and inspiring quotes from donors. SAA also held its first Giving Day Pirate Cab, where students were able to donate in person and answer Seton Hall trivia to win prizes.

The impression left by Seton Hall Giving Day stretches to all corners of the University, providing students with an enhanced Seton Hall experience and a strong foundation for their success. The community's ardent display of Pirate pride and overwhelming love and support shone through, helping the University step boldly toward a brighter future.

While Seton Hall Giving Day is over, the Seton Hall community can continue to support students by making a gift here.
