Seton Hall is gearing up for its second annual Giving Day with a goal of engaging 1,856 members of the University community. Pirates can support a priority of their choice from 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10 to 11 p.m. on Thursday, April 11 by going to www.shu.edu/givingday.
Giving Day allows graduates to celebrate their unique Seton Hall stories and strengthen their lifelong relationship with the University while making a powerful impact on today’s students.
The goal of 1,856 donors honors the year when Bishop James Roosevelt Bayley established the University and named it after his aunt, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton. Last year, donors smashed the Giving Day goal of 500 gifts when 1,150 loyal Pirates gave $167,290 to scholarships, Athletics, Mission and Ministry, student activities and other pillars of the Seton Hall experience.
"Our alumni welcome the opportunity to come together in support of their alma mater — particularly on Giving Day, which allows them to advance any priority that is meaningful to them," said Anthony Bellucci, Associate Vice President for Alumni Relations and Annual Giving.
"I was awestruck by last year’s tremendous support," he said. "And I have confidence that alumni and friends, parents, faculty, staff members and students will show even greater enthusiasm this year."
Reaching the Giving Day goal of 1,856 donors will help Seton Hall achieve its overall FY19 goal of receiving gifts from 11 percent of undergraduate alumni. It also will cause the University to earn a $75,000 Giving Day bonus that has been promised by a dedicated alumni donor if the goal is met.
Pirates can participate in Giving Day now by going to www.shu.edu/givingday to make their gift.
