Alumni Relations is proud to sponsor the 8th Annual Irish Mass & Dinner at Seton Hall University, presented by the Pirates of Irish Persuasion & Extraction (PIPE) Alumni Club—Seton Hall University's alumni club that celebrates Irish culture.
Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Dan Cahill in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception on Seton Hall's South Orange campus at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 20. Parts of the Mass will be said in Irish, and parts in English. Those attending Mass are encouraged to arrive at 5:45 p.m. for a short lesson on the Irish Mass responses. The musical selections for the Mass will include Irish-inspired hymns. All are welcome!
Following the Mass will be an Irish dinner at 7 p.m. in the Main Lounge of the Bishop Dougherty University Center. The menu will feature Irish entrees from Town Hall Deli and Town Hall's famous Sloppy Joes, desserts, soft drinks, coffee and tea.
At the dinner, attendees will enjoy the musical virtuosity of Dr. Manus McGuire, a multi-award-winning Irish fiddler who tours internationally and teaches fiddle at the intermediate and advanced levels. At the dinner, we will also recognize Seton Hall University faculty and administrators who were recognized by the Irish Voice in December of 2017 as recipients of the Irish Education 100 award. All at the dinner will be entered to win fabulous door prizes! Free will donations will be accepted for the Division of Volunteer Efforts' (DOVE's) work with St. John's Soup Kitchen in Newark. Donations can also be made while registering for the event at www.shu.edu/PIPEAlumni.
Join members of the Seton Hall community for this evening of celebration of Irish heritage and Catholic faith!
Tickets for the dinner are $15 per adult and $10 per child age 12 and under. Tickets for the dinner must be pre-purchased no later than Friday, April 13. Click here to order your tickets for the dinner.
