"Everyone is so supportive and caring. My professors spend lots of extra time with me and really know who I am and care about me. I owe Seton Hall so much because they have made me the person I am today. I have become more confident, open-minded and knowledgeable. I wouldn't be the person I am or have had even half of these experiences if I didn't come to Seton Hall."
Kristine Mamanta, Marketing and Economics majors
After completing six competitive internships and studying abroad in Spain, Portugal, and Greece, Kristine Mamanta says, "My time at Seton Hall was amazing. I did so much more than my friends who went to larger schools."
During her internship at Standard and Poor's, Kristine met two alumni who took her under their wing, gave her advice, took her to lunch and included her in projects. Now, she has landed a coveted full-time job at Standard and Poor's after graduation.
Kristine credits the faculty and career center for her success. "Freshman year, my professor encouraged me to do an internship so I went to the career center and they were beyond helpful, with my resume and interview skills. They helped me land my first internship at NBC which led to another internship at CNBC."
Kristine was paired up with six different corporate mentors and attended countless networking and seminar events, allowing her invaluable access and insight from corporate leaders. "My mentor from Deloitte was so helpful and so nice, he spent a lot of time with me and gave me great advice and a lot of confidence."
Outside of the classroom, Kristine wrote for The Stillman Exchange, later becoming managing editor. She also worked with faculty on two research projects: One on game theory and the other on medical distribution to help prevent malaria in developing countries. At Seton Hall's Market Research Center, she conducted focus groups and put her qualitative and quantitative research skills into real-world practice, helping local businesses.
Being from Texas, Kristine was looking for an East Coast school. "I'm so glad I chose Seton Hall, not only because of all the unbelievable things I've gotten to do while I was here but also because the location is perfect-only 25 minutes to NYC, and my friends and I love exploring the city."
Kristine says when she thinks of Seton Hall, she thinks of family.
