Dr. Kairys is Chairman of Pediatrics at the K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center (JSUMC). He serves as Medical Director of the national AAP Quality Improvement and Innovation Networks (QuIIN) and the New Jersey AAP Pediatric Council on Research and Education (PCORE).
Dr. Kairys is board certified in general pediatrics, adolescent medicine and Child Abuse and Neglect. He was awarded Pediatrician of the year in 1987 in New Hampshire and in 2012 in New Jersey. He is co-PI on a state wide program to improve mental health services for children by developing a collaborative model between primary care pediatrics and child psychiatry.
Dr Kairys previously was chairman of Pediatrics at Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire and at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Dr. Kairys was awarded two World Health Organization Fellowships to study international pediatric care.
