Lourdes Zaragoza Mitchel is an Associate Professor in the College of Education and Human Services. She has wide experiences as a professor, administrator, consultant, and teacher in both urban and suburban schools. She specializes in the preparation of elementary teachers, PK-8, and advancing the agenda of clinical practices through the Professional Development School (PDS). Prior to coming to Seton Hall University she was Principal of the first PDS School in New Jersey and continues to believe that in order for pre-service and in-service teachers university and school must work together in true partnerships where "Everyone Teaches and Everyone Learns".

Through the PDS work, Dr. Mitchel engages in creating and implementing job embedded professional development and clinical practices that promote learning for all. Her current research includes designing, implementing and assessing the impact of the PDS co-planning and co-teaching clinical practice model and its impact on teacher evaluation and student learning.
