Windows Updates

As part of the annual summer IT maintenance period and to help minimize the amount on network traffic during the beginning of the semester, Microsoft Updates will be applied to on campus PC's before the start of classes on August 26.  The updates will be automatically downloaded and installed on your PC. After installation you will have to reboot your PC.  A reboot notification will pop up in your notification area in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. You will be allowed to postpone the reboot until a more convenient time. Remember to save any documents you are working before rebooting to avoid losing data. If you have any problems or questions please contact the Service Desk at (973) 275-2222.

The Windows Update (or Microsoft Update) utility is used to keep your Windows-based computer up-to-date with the latest patches. These updates will close security holes in your computer and hopefully prevent you from being hacked or infected with viruses. This will also help protect other users on our network from any potential problems with your computer.
