Information is one of SHU most valuable assets and therefore must be protected at all costs! Since most of SHU systems are accessible through the campus network., they are vulnerable to security breaches that may compromise confidential information and expose the university to losses and other risks It is of paramount importance that all faculty, staff, students and contractors be aware of the “value” of information and be more sensitive to how it is handled. Seton Hall is committed to protecting information resources that are critical to its academic and research mission and thus created Information Security Office to that effect to assure the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of SHU Data, systems and Networks.
About the IT Security Office
The IT Security Office oversees the SHU community's efforts to protect its computing and information assets and to comply with legal and regulatory requirements and also seeks to ensure that all SHU computing users that use, access, store and transmit University data understand their responsibility in reducing the information security risks and take appropriate security measures to protect University information resources. The University Information Security Officer facilitates the development of IT Risk Management program, develops policies and standards, provides security information and service, and acts as the focal point for IT security and abuse issues.
