The University encourages faculty to integrate the use of technology into the curriculum and supports the use of the laptop / tablet computer for teaching and learning. As part of this process, all faculty participate in the Mobile Computing program and are issued either a laptop or tablet computer as part of the program. Participation Policies and Procedures
Policies and procedures have been developed which govern faculty participation in the Mobile Computing Program.
Laptop Distribution
New faculty are issued a laptop or tablet computer at New Faculty Orientation. For information regarding New Faculty Orientation, please contact the Provost Office, the TLT Center or your department chair. New faculty who are not able to attend the orientation will need to schedule a distribution appointment with the Asset Management Office by calling (973) 313-6181 or sending an e-mail to assets@shu.edu.
Faculty Laptop Models

Faculty Laptop Refresh
Seton Hall has instituted an optional 2 year refresh process with a required refresh after 3 years. This ensures that the laptop or tablet that the faculty member is using is compatible with the laptops and tablets being used by the students. In addition, it ensures that the faculty have access to the most current technology available.

The Teaching, Learning and Technology Center provides support services to assist you with the integration of technology into teaching and learning.
Laptop Repair

- The Technology Help Desk provides first level technical phone support for your laptop. To reach the Technology Help Desk, dial (973) 275-2222.
- The Hardware Repair Shop staffs the Laptop Consultation Area which provides on-site technical hardware and software support for your laptop. The Laptop Consultation Area is located in Corrigan Hall Room 28.
Laptop Software Image
In order to ensure the successful integration of the laptop into your coursework, the University has selected and licensed a core suite of software. All of the laptops are pre-loaded with this standard suite of software. Click here to view information about the current laptop software image.
Software Training
The Teaching, Learning and Technology (TLT) Center houses the Computer Training Classroom (CTC) which provides on-site software training on all of the university standard software.
