 Mobile Device Setup 

 

IOS Devices - iPhone/iPad

  1. Settings - Mail, Contacts, Calendars - Add Account

  2. Choose "Microsoft Exchange and fill out the preliminary form with the following information, then click "Next":
    1. Email: first.last@student.shu.edu
    2. Password: Current PirateNet (Active Directory) password
    3. Description: Students can define a description about the Email account, such as - "Seton Hall Email"

  3. The Exchange form is displayed. The following information should be input and click Save to verify and Save the account.
    1. Email: first.last@student.shu.edu
    2. Server: m.outlook.com
    3. Domain: outlook.com/student.shu.edu
    4. Username: shortname@shu.edu (ex. smithjo@shu.edu)
    5. Password: Current PirateNet (Active Directory) password
    6. Description: Student can define a description about the Email account, such as "Seton Hall Email"

Windows Phone:

  1. Settings - Email + Accounts - Add an Account - Choose "Outlook"

  2. On the initial Outlook form enter, then click "Sign in"
    1. Email address - first.last@student.shu.edu
    2. Password - Current PirateNet (Active Directory) password

  3. On the next Outlook screen, the form will need more information and click "Sign in"
    1. Username: shortname@shu.edu (ex. smithjo@shu.edu)
    2. Domain: outlook.com/student.shu.edu

  4. On the "We could not find your settings" click advanced - and enter the server address at the bottom
    1. Server Address: m.outlook.com
    2. Ensure that all settings are as follows:
      1. Email address: first.last@student.shu.edu
      2. Password: Current PirateNet password / AD Password
      3. Username: shortname@shu.edu
      4. Domain: outlook.com/student.shu.edu
      5. Server: m.outlook.com
    3. Click "Sign In", Email Synchronization will begin, and the Email account setup will be completed.

Android Device (Setup based upon the Motorola Atrix)

  1. Setting - Accounts - Add Account - Corporate - Set up the Exchange account with the following parameters:
    1. Email address: first.last@student.shu.edu
    2. Password: Current PirateNet / AD password
    3. Click "Next"
    4. The Domain/Username: shortname@shu.edu (ex. smithjo@shu.edu)
    5. Server: m.outlook.com
    6. Ensure the check box are checked to use SSL connection and accept all SSL Certificates.
    7. Ensure port 443 is being used (pre-configured by the Android device)
    8. Click "Next" to connect to your Office365 Email Account.
    9. On the screen, Exchange ActiveSync settings, ensure the sync settings are checked to:
      1. Send Email from this account by default (optional)
      2. Sync contacts from this account
      3. Sync calendar from this account
      4. Sync tasks from this account
      5. Sync email from this account
      6. Review other optional ActiveSync Options and click "Done"
      7. Name the Account (ex. Seton Hall Email)

  2. Your Seton Hall Office365 Email can now be accessed through the Android mail application
