courses.shu.edu
This web space is intended to be used for courses that teach
or utilize web technologies in their curriculum. Each course needing web space for students as a part of an
assignment or project in the class will be given space for the semester and the
necessary access to the space to facilitate the learning objective or the creation
of the project assigned to the students.
Upon completion of the course and after grades are due, the work will be
archived to DVD and provided to the faculty member for a record of the work in
the class.
This web space will also allow the faculty to teach the
necessary web technologies to allow our students to be competitive when
entering the workforce and be able to demonstrate hands on experience in web
technologies. Common technologies
supported on this server include CGI scripting, Perl, PHP, and MySQL. Other technologies can be
implemented as needed by the curriculum at the University. These requests will be handled on a
case by case basis and requested through the TLT Center who will work with IT
Services to assess the feasibility of the request and implement if deemed
appropriate.
Faculty who want their course to have a web presence and
prefer not to utilize the University’s course management system can also
request space on courses.shu.edu.
This content will not be archived and will be reviewed for removal on a
semester by semester basis.
