Since the Fall of 2005, all Seton Hall students have had access to Ruckus, the premiere digital entertainment service for college students. Using a legal music sharing service like Ruckus protects you and the University from copyright infringement which carries severe penalties. Students from other prestigious universities have faced stiff fines having been prosecuted for illegally downloading and sharing music via P2P services.
 
Ruckus provides the most comprehensive digital media services available for universities today. Ruckus provides movies, music (inc. legal P2P), TV, radio, profiles and the ability to share original content between campuses that subscribe to the Ruckus service. With this rich array of features, Ruckus helps unite campuses through common interests while providing for our student's digital entertainment needs.

Students can enjoy all the benefits of Ruckus, without leaving the campus network. Ruckus provides the University with a content server so students have unbelievably fast downloads of content. Because the content resides on the campus backbone downloads take mere seconds instead of minutes, including hit movies too!

Prerequisites:

Ruckus accounts are available only to Seton Hall students. Students must have a valid SHU e-mail account to be eligible to apply for a Ruckus account.

Process:

To create a Ruckus account and begin downloading content:

1. Go to www.ruckus.com
2. Click on the JOIN RUCKUS NOW link on the left.
3. Complete the registration form.
4. A message will appear notifying you that an e-mail has been sent to your shu.edu e-mail account. The e-mail will contain information on completing the registration process.
5. Go to your SHU e-mail account, open the e-mail from Ruckus and complete the registration process.
6. You will then be directed back to Ruckus. Log in using your e-mail address and password.
7. Congratulations! You have successfully registered with Ruckus.
8. Download the Ruckus Player onto your welcome page.
9. Start selecting content to download.
