The TLTC houses three technology specific rooms that are available to the University for teaching classes, hosting events or conducting meetings that have a special technology requirement. All of the rooms are located on the first floor of the Walsh Library.
- The Beck Rooms - The maximum seating capacity of the room is 75 and can be divided into two separate rooms, Beck AB or Beck C for smaller type events or meetings.
Beck Room AB has a maximum seating capacity of 45 consisting of 17 movable tables and 45 chairs. The room is equipped with the following: a podium, sound system with nine ceiling mounted speakers, up to 4 microphone capability, 10 ft. electrical Projection Screen, two 6 ft. pull down projection screens, 3 White Boards, LCD Projector, cassette Recorder/Player, DVD/VCR player, campus TeleVideo cable access, wireless connectivity, and 3 network ports.
Beck Room C has a maximum seating capacity of 30 consisting of 15 movable tables and 30 chairs. The room is equipped with 1 white board, one 6 ft. pull down screen, LCD Projector, wall mounted speakers, and 1 network port. T
- Computer Training Classroom (CTC) - The CTC is a private lab where the TLTC training staff holds all of its scheduled classes and one-on-one training sessions. It also serves as a testing environment where faculty are encouraged to try out new pieces of software and demonstrate new technologies. The classroom has a maximum seating capacity of 15 consisting of 12 computer workstations and three open spaces available for laptop / tablet use.
- Interactive Television Classroom (ITV) - The ITV Room is equipped with the technology necessary to conduct and participate in videoconferencing. The room is operated via a Crestron control panel and equipped with a IP Polycom Video Conference Unit, 1 Instructor Camera, 1 Classroom Camera, three LCD monitors, LCD Projector, Multi-Regional VCR, Recording VCR, DVD player, Smypodium, Instructor Station, ceiling mounted Document Camera, 1 whiteboard, 6ft pull down screen, 6 microphones, and 1 wireless lapel microphone for the instructor. The maximum seating capacity is 32 and is comprised of 17 tables on arranged in lecture style seating. Power and data is available around the perimeter of the room. Access to the wireless network is also available. This is room is also equipped with digital lecture capture equipment.
Prerequisites:
- Customers who wish to reserve a room must be affiliated with or sponsored by a department, administrator or faculty member of Seton Hall University.
- Customers must demonstrate budgetary approval for those services associated with a cost.
- Customers must adhere to the policies and procedures set forth in the TLTC SLA.
Process:
- All reservation requests should be submitted with at least two business days notice.
- The TLTC Service Level Agreement must be signed before approval to use the room is granted.
- If all or part of the reservation falls outside of the normal hours of operation for the Walsh Library and/or The Teaching, Learning and Technology Center, additional staffing charges will apply. The charge will be based on the current university wage for overtime pay and will be charged for those hours that fall outside of the normal hours of operation.
- If all or part of the reservation falls outside of the normal hours of operation for the Walsh Library and/or The Teaching, Learning and Technology Center, Public Safety & Security presence is required. A guard must be scheduled for the duration of the reservation that falls outside of the normal hours of operation. Your reservation will be held, but not confirmed until the TLTC receives confirmation from Public Safety that a guard has been scheduled.
- Room setup, clean up and arrangement of the furniture is the responsibility of the requestor. It is the responsibility of the requestor to return the room to its original furniture configuration.
- If food and/or refreshments are served, all food items must be removed from the room at the end of your event.
- When making your reservation, please allow for ample set-up and cleanup time.
- Because of the diversity of uses for the Beck rooms and the specific nature of the technology and facilities, there is high demand for the space. As a result, the Beck Rooms cannot be reserved for regularly-scheduled, recurring classes or programs.
- There is a cost associated with using the videoconferencing equipment in the ITV room. Please contact Eva Gale, Assistant Director of the TLTC, at ext. 9522 to obtain a quote.
