Wired Connectivity on Campus

The University has a Cisco gigabit Ethernet campus backbone supporting over 7000 wired ports. The campus has a 100 megabit connection to NJEDge.net, providing access to the commodity Internet, Internet2, and a statewide broadband video conferencing network. All classrooms on campus have at least one data port for instructional purposes. Jubilee Hall has port-per-seat classrooms, having a dedicated network jack at each seat. The Residence Halls have dedicated network jacks in all of the rooms and network jacks have been placed in general meeting areas such as the University Green, the Galleon Room and Pirate's Cove.

The Networking and Telecommunications Office located in Corrigan Hall, is responsible for supporting the wired infrastructure on campus. Among the responsibilities of this office are the installation, maintenance, and servicing of all data lines that enable wired connectivity to the University network.
