Voice Connectivity on Campus
The University has a state-of-the-art NEC IPX telephone switch supporting over 4000 campus phones. The University has partnered with AT&T Wireless to distribute cellular devices to employees in support areas throughout the campus which enable increased response times and provide more efficient servicing. The University has also implemented Voice-over-IP telephony and wireless bridges to reduce the cost of wiring while expanding services to new areas, such as the University Health Center on Centre Street and the new Human Resources office on Ward Place.
The Networking and Telecommunications Office located in Corrigan Hall, is responsible for the servicing of all voice related issues which include telephone land line services, cellular device support, and voice-over- IP.
