IT Self-Help

SHU IT Helpdesk is an on-line self help component of the Technology Help Desk that enables you to troubleshoot problems and find solutions on your own. The SHU IT Helpdesk is a database of frequently asked questions that allows you to submit a question or keyword and returns a list of possible solutions. The database is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing around the clock help desk support.

Prerequisites:

In order to utilize the SHU IT Helpdesk, you must be a student or employee at Seton Hall University with a valid university account.

Process:

To utilize the SHU IT Helpdesk feature, log into PirateNet >>

Click on the Offices & Services tab and look for the section labeled IT Helpdesk.

Type your question or key word into the search bar or conduct a search by category.

The database will return a list of possible solutions. Select the solution that works best for your particular problem or question.

If you do not find a fix for your problem, you can click on the button labeled "Open a ticket" and create a help desk ticket. You will be asked to provide a description of the problem as well as contact information, then click save. The help desk ticket will then be processed by a help desk specialist who will contact you with a resolution or next steps.
