Policy Description
The Public Lab Reservation Policy outlines the terms and conditions for using a public lab as a teaching or meeting space. Please see the guidelines for reserving a public lab listed below.
- Public Labs can only be reserved for actual instruction time involving the use of the lab computers. Labs may not be reserved as an alternative lecture location or for the completion of homework.
- The use of the Public Computer Labs is free to faculty and administrators for classroom instruction.
- PC Support Services will charge outside organizations and groups for the use of the Public Labs. There is a standard fee of $10 per student for lab reservations that fall within the normal hours of operation of the Public Labs. This fee covers the use of the equipment in the Public Labs and well as access to the University network.
- If a reservation request is made outside our normal hours of operations, a standard fee of $18 per hour per lab will be charged to the organization or group making the reservation. This fee covers the additional staffing and resources required for reservations that fall outside of the lab hours of operation.
- A representative of the group or organization making the reservation must be present during the reservation (in the case of a class related reservation, this must be the professor.) If a representative does not appear by fifteen minutes after the schedule time, the reservation will be considered canceled, and the lab will be opened for general use.
- Reservations are made on a first come, first served basis. Reservation requests should be submitted at least 48 hours before the session. Cancellations should be made at least 24 hours in advance.
- All lab policies and procedures must be abided by during the session.
