SHU Stafford Loan Process

Policy Description

Students are offered Stafford loan(s) on their award package after the FAFSA is processed. The following steps should be completed in order to receive the loan.

New Borrowers:

1. Accept loans through Pirate Net. 
2. Complete Entrance Counseling
3. Sign a Master Promissory Note
   
   

Returning Borrower:

1. Accept loans through Pirate Net.
   
2. Sign a Master Promissory Note
   
   

After these steps are complete, the loan(s) will be set for disbursement. If you have accepted your loan(s) and would like to make any changes to the loan amount, you will then need to complete a Loan Adjustment Form.
