Sophomore Discovery Program (SDP)

The Sophomore Discovery Program (SDP) is housed on the third floor of the Xavier Hall Tower and consists of approximately 35 residential students. The SDP program is the Housing and Residence Life initiative to bridge the gap between the first year residential program and the upper-class residential area of residence life. The SDP program will facilitate a smooth transition to college life beyond the first year and will strive to combat the factors which lead to what is commonly known as the “sophomore slump.” The SDP program provides tailored programming efforts and deliberate one-on-one interactions with paraprofessional and professional staff to strengthen sophomore connections to the Seton Hall University community. This program is intended to help with retention rates among the sophomore student population and is highly selective and competitive. Consideration will be given to students who need help transitioning into their sophomore year.
