Residence Halls 

The Department of Housing and Residence Life provides a living, learning environment that fosters the academic and personal experience for residents, and helps them prepare for the rest of their lives.

Seton Hall is “home” to approximately 2,350 students - nearly 50 percent of the undergraduate population. There are six on-campus residence halls for undergraduate students and two apartment buildings, located in South Orange, for sophomores, juniors and seniors.

Aquinas Hall

Aquinas Hall houses approximately 330 first year students. This residence hall is arranged in two-room suites, each sharing a private bathroom.  Aquinas Hall offers suite-style rooms that consist of 2 bedrooms sharing 1 bathroom. Each suite houses 4-5 people. Each room has its own heating/cooling unit.  A study lounge is available for students on each of the three floors. Aquinas Hall is part of the COMPASS (Collaborative Opportunities to Mature Personally, Academically, Socially and Spiritually) Program. The residence hall director's office is located in the lobby. Boland Hall
Boland Hall houses approximately 710 first year students.  Floors are arranged in living learning communities based on the Core Curriculum.   Boland Hall is part of the COMPASS (Collaborative Opportunities to Mature Personally, Academically, Socially and Spiritually) Program.  North Boland is co-ed by floor and is arranged so two rooms share a bathroom. South Boland is single gender by wing and is arranged so individual rooms share a community bathroom. The Pirate's Cellar is located in the basement and is available for studying, television, pool games, programs, and other assorted activities. Complex (Serra, Neumann, Cabrini Hall)
The Complex houses approximately 550 upper-class students. The Complex is made up of three individual residence halls that function as one area under the supervision of the Complex Residence Hall Director. Each of the three halls is arranged in two and three room suites, each sharing a private bathroom. There are two lounges available for students on each floor. In addition, laundry facilities and  study lounges are located in the Complex. The Complex Residence Hall Director's office is located on the first floor of Neumann Hall.

  • Serra Hall houses 153 upper-class students. You can contact the Serra Hall front desk at (973) 761-9756.

Ora Manor
Ora Manor
is located at 324 Valley Street. It houses 105 upper-class students and it offers apartment style living. Each apartment has either two or three bedrooms that share a bathroom, a kitchen and a living room. Cable and internet service are provided as part of the room fee.  Phone service must be contracted individually if desired. There is a community room in the basement available for study groups and programs. Parking Services runs SHUFLY to and from campus.

Turrell Manor
Turrell Manor is located at 384 Turrell Avenue. It houses 83 upper-class students who commit to the Turrell Manor Servant Leadership and Academic Excellence Program. Students complete a separate application to be part of this living learning community. This residence hall offers apartment style living in one, two, or three bedroom apartments.  The Residence Hall Director's office is located in Cabrini Hall, behind the front desk.

Xavier Hall
Xavier Hall houses 518 upper-class students and it is the home of the Sophomore Discovery program. The majority of this residence hall is arranged so two rooms share a bathroom.  There are 14 rooms which are triples with a private bath. A study lounge and a game lounge are available on the second and third floors. The Residence Hall Director's office is located on the first floor lobby.
