The National Residence Hall Honorary

Seton Hall University is home to the Sigma Eta Upsilon chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary, otherwise known as NRHH.  This nationally recognized organization prides itself on admitting members that represent the top 1% of student leaders that live on campus.  NRHH organizes the "Of the Month" or "OTM" program on campus which provides our community with the opportunity to recognize themselves and each other for their hard work and accomplishments.

To become a member of the Sigma Eta Upsilon chapter of NRHH, you must be nominated by a peer, faculty, or administrator of the Seton Hall community. If your nomination is accepted, you must undergo a brief interview process and will be notified via e-mail.  NRHH has limited space, as they can only admit a maximum of 1% of the on campus population.

Resident Student Association

The Resident Student Association, otherwise known as RSA, is an SGA funded organization that works directly with the Department of Housing and Residence Life.  It is a governing body of resident students that voices the specific needs and concerns of those living on campus.  They work directly with HRL administrators in an attempt to address these concerns.  RSA also organizes several programs on campus throughout the year as a means of uniting the population of each residence hall.  Some of their annual programs include SHUperbowl, Suitcase Party, and their philanthropy Canstruction.

Anyone who currently lives in SHU owned housing can become a member of the Resident Student Association and attend their weekly meetings. All members are eligible to run for executive board positions in the RSA election, which is held every Spring semester.

For information about the Resident Student Association, please contact RSA@shu.edu.

Hall Council

Hall Council is a governing body of students found within each residence hall on campus.  While each council is unique to their own building, they all are made up of a President, Vice President, Secretary and RSA Representative.  Each council meets to address the needs of their specific building and to organize programs geared towards that.  Hall Council works directly with the Resident Student Association to share concerns, communicate program ideas, and to meet students from all buildings on campus.

Anyone who currently lives in a residence hall on campus can become a member of their specific building's Hall Council and is eligible to run in Hall Council elections held every year.

Please contact your Hall's Residence Coordinator for more details.
