Yoga is an ancient practice that has existed for centuries. The benefits of yoga are numerous and a growing number of studies are confirming improvements in both physical and psychological health. Physically, yoga can build endurance and stamina and develops strength, flexibility and balance. Psychologically, it is known to help develop awareness and reduce stress. Yoga has also been found to improve mood and reduce anxiety.
All SHU students are invited to participate in Yoga at CAPS weekly throughout the academic semesters at 4 pm on Fridays. The one hour session of gentle yoga, led by CAPS staff psychologist Dr. Jude Uy, meets on the Green weather permitting. Call CAPS at extension 9500 for site information in the event of inclement weather.
