Jacquline Chaffin, Director
Jackie has been the director of The Career Center since 1998. Under her leadership, she has advanced a university-wide experiential education agenda, grown the University’s Internship Program by 200% and transformed The Career Center into a highly regarded Center on campus. Jackie believes that career-based experiential education programs that develop students’ competence and confidence as well as strong employer partnerships and alumni networks are key to the Career Center’s success in preparing students for post-graduate success.
Jackie’s 20+ years of experience includes internship program development and consultation, career counseling and assessment, training and corporate recruiting and development. She credits her time working for Ingersoll-Rand's university relations and corporate recruiting program as essential building stones in understanding employer relations/recruitment. As an adjunct professor for the College of Education and Human Services, she has taught graduate courses on Career Development Theory and Career Assessment. She has served on the boards of state, regional and national professional organizations and presented 100+ workshops nation-wide.
Jackie believes that she is living her vocation and calling as a supervisor, leader and career educator. “At the end of everyday, I feel that our work makes a difference in the lives of our students. We get to help students understand who they are…what they want to be and guide them on the journey. It’s truly a gift to have the opportunity to make a difference on a daily basis…” Jackie received a BA from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, a M.Ed. from the University of Georgia and has completed several doctoral courses at Seton Hall.
Reesa Greenwald, Associate Director
Reesa has many years of experience in career development and experiential education, including cooperative education, internships and service learning. She is a past president of the New Jersey Cooperative Education & Internship Association and previously served as Vice President for Professional Development for the national Cooperative Education and Internship Association. She is currently a regional Vice President for CEIA and a trainer for the National Academy for Work Integrated Learning. Presently, Reesa works with SHU alumni and graduate students in the Strategic Communication, MPA and MHA programs. Her favorite part of working at Seton Hall is the energy of the students and the feeling of “community”. Reesa received her Master’s degree in Counseling from Montclair State University.
Nancy Borkowski, Senior Assistant Director for Vocation and Career Development
Joining the Career Center in June 2008, Nancy has spent over 15 years in career services settings working with college and university students and faculty. Nancy will be assisting first year students, undeclared students, undecided students, and College of Education majors in developing their career goals and calling.
Nancy received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a Master of Education degree in College Student Personnel from Miami University (Ohio). She earned a Doctor of Education degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Georgia. She has worked in career services centers at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, Emory University, and Miami University, and the Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Georgia. Nancy’s background includes experience in graduate student and faculty development, first year experience course, academic advising, and a national non-profit educational foundation.
Donna Jackson-Robertson, Associate Director 
Donna Jackson supports the Stillman School of Business team advising undergraduate, MBA and MS students. She manages the On-Campus Interviewing Program and provides support to the Pirate Mentoring Program. Prior to joining Seton Hall, Donna worked for an international career development and internship organization for diverse students. She provided career coaching and facilitated training workshops such as transitioning from college to career and business case simulations. Donna also managed several partnerships with Fortune 500 companies in banking and finance where she was responsible for developing and sustaining internship and professional opportunities in the US, Canada and Mexico. She also trained staff and collaborated with corporate partners to develop a training curriculum for students pursuing Wall Street careers.
Donna first discovered her passion for working with students as a career advisor for the business and communication schools at American University in Washington, DC. Prior to academe, Donna has worked in the federal and state government as well as various non profits in roles ranging from analyst to public relations. She holds a MPA in Finance from American and a BA in Communication from the University of Delaware.
Sandra Vilarino, Assistant Director for Career and Employer Development
Sandra joins the Career Center with four years of experience working with Engineering and Science students at Stevens Institute of Technology. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Counseling and Human Services from The University of Scranton and a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology from Rutgers University, Graduate School of Education. Sandra currently works with Seton Hall students in the College of Arts and Sciences, as well as the College of Nursing and School of Health & Medical Sciences.
Bob Franco, Assistant Director for Career and Employer Development
Bob Franco will be working with Finance, Management, Economics and International Business undergraduate and graduate students and alumni. Bob comes to the Career Center with a background as a Senior Human Resources Generalist with varied corporate experience including American Express, Novartis, Automatic Data Processing and Community Education Centers. He possesses keen business intuition as well as expertise in leading people, organizations, change and strategy -- a strong thought leader with outstanding leadership and collaboration skills to drive results. He attended Rutgers College and Stevens Institute of Technology and has been highlighted in The Innovation Superhighway (Debra Amidon); Leverage Points (Pegasus Communications) and the Downtown Business Quarterly (Institute for Business Trends Analysis).
Bob believes that inside people is a power, often untapped, that can add great value. Once brought to the surface, this can create a world of opportunity. Through the profound interaction of knowledge, innovation, personal growth and balance, we receive profit beyond measure.
Christopher Carbone, Assistant Director for Career and Employer Development
Christopher works with students in the College of Arts &
Sciences, where he helps them discover, refine, and aspire to new
heights within their field. He joins the Career Center with over 15
years of experience in the Higher Education field. He has previously
served in a number of student service and teaching positions at The City
University of New York.
Christopher received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of
Staten Island, and a Master of Arts degree in Psychology from Duquesne
University, where he has completed doctoral courses (ABD) in
Developmental Psychology with a minor in Policy Analysis &
Administration. His education and service reflect a commitment to the
development of the student, in partnership with the world in which they
live and the world they wish to see.
Simone Thompson, Secretary
Simone joined The Career Center in October 2005 after working in the Development Office and Alumni Services. Simone manages the front office of the Center where she welcomes and assists students, employers and alumni.
In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Simone is currently working on her Education degree and plans to attend Seton Hall in the fall where she will study Speech and Hearing Pathology.
Lynn Durkin, Secretary
Lynn obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education/English from Providence College, Providence, RI. Upon graduation Lynn worked as a Key Account Manager/Division Trainer for Vicks Health Care Division, Richardson-Merrill, Inc. where she handled their Key Accounts and Student Internship Program in Boston & New York. She took a break from the corporate world to be a full time mom to her three daughters. Before joining The Career Center, Lynn worked with autistic children, implementing ABA programs within the public school system.
Lynn is very excited about working at The Career Center and assisting the team help students reach their full potential!
Alexandra Stratyner, Graduate Assistant
Alexandra (Alex) joined the Seton Hall Career Center in September 2011 and assists first-year and undecided students, especially those students who are uncertain about an academic major and career options. Alex earned her BA in Psychology from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, where she researched social cognition in counseling professionals. She is currently a graduate student pursuing a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Seton Hall University.
Krista Dettle, Graduate Assistant
Krista joined the Seton Hall Career Center in September 2009 and is working to assist first year students, undeclared students and undecided students in discovering and developing their career goals. She encourages students to learn about themselves while exploring various vocational possibilities. A Licensed Associate Counselor in the state of NJ, Krista earned a B.A. in Psychology from Drew University and M.A. in Clinical & Counseling Psychology from William Paterson University. Currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Seton Hall.
Jennifer Da Salvia, Graduate Assistant
Jennifer joined The Career Center as a Graduate Assistant in August
2010 and is currently assisting with the On-Campus Interviewing program,
Interview Skills workshop as well as working with students to review
their resumes. Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from
Seton Hall in 2008 and is now pursuing a dual Master of Arts in
Professional Counseling/Education Specialist and School Counseling.
Jennifer has worked full-time as an Employment Specialist with APL
Associates where she coached individuals with disabilities on interview
skills, resume building, and job coaching. She has also worked as a Head
Counselor for the South Orange Summer Playground camp over the last
seven years and directed the camp during 2009 and 2010.
