Meal Plan

All residence hall students are required to purchase a Meal Plan. When completing an application/license for housing, each student must indicate a Meal Plan preference. Once you have submitted your housing application, all changes to the Meal Plan must be made through the Residence Life in Duffy Hall. Meal Plans can be used at Gourmet Dining Services locations, and are valid for the specified semester when classes are in session. Any Pirate Bucks left over at the end of the fall semester will carry over to the spring semester provided the student purchases a spring meal plan. Unused Pirate Bucks left on the card at the end of the spring semester are non refundable. Pirate Bucks and Meal Plans are not valid in the Bookstore.

Residents  must  purchase  Meal Plan 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6. Meal Plan 4 is the only plan that allows the 12 swipes per week to be used for whomever you choose. Commuters and apartment residents may purchase any of the aforementioned meal plans available to residents or plan 7, which is specifically tailored to the student who does not spend as much time on campus. Commuters and apartment residents may also want to consider a Seton Hall University Pirate's Gold account.

Plan I
9 meals/week, 300 Pirate Bucks, 5 guests

Plan II
12 meals/week, 275 Pirate Bucks, 5 guests

Plan III

160 meals, 300 Pirate Bucks, 5 guests

Plan IV
12 meals/week, 350 Pirate Bucks
Plan V
14 meals/week, 400 Pirate Bucks, 5 guests

Plan VI
16 meals/week, 375 Pirate Bucks, 5 guests

Plan VII
40 meals, 75 Pirate Bucks, 1 guest

Plan VIII
12 meals/week 695 Pirate Bucks

Students who live on campus must purchase one of the meal plans (I-VI) indicated above. These plans represent a combination of a number of meals per week and a pool of flexible spending funds, called Pirate Bucks, that are placed on an account for the student and can be used like a debit card at all of the dining facilities on campus, but not in the University Bookstore.

Any Pirate Bucks left over at the end of the fall semester will carry over to the spring semester, provided the student purchases a spring meal plan. Unused Pirate Bucks left over at the end of the spring semester are non refundable. If all Pirate Bucks are used before the end of the semester, money can be added to a Pirate's Gold flexible spending account that can be used to purchase meals and/or items in the University Bookstore, as well as other campus vending outlets.

Commuters may purchase any meal plan or may want to consider a Seton Hall University Pirate's Gold flexible spending account. Further information about meal plans and dining options will be provided at orientation.
