What is Electronic Billing (eBill)? Electronic billing enables you to review your Seton Hall University tuition statement on-line and also make Electronic check ( e-check ) and credit card payments toward your student account.
How will I know when my eBill is available? Each time a bill is available, an e-mail will be sent to your SHU e-mail address. It will also be sent to the "EBIL" E-Mail Type address, if you have provided one to the University through your Pirate Net account. This allows students to designate a Third Party (parent or guardian) to receive an e-mail.
How can my Parents view my eBill? Students will need to provide their parent with a copy of their eBill. Students can also designate authorized payers of tuition to access and pay the student's bill. Read more »
Why are paper bills being replaced? The University has decided to implement eBilling to enhance student customer service. While researching and surveying other institutions, Seton Hall University found high levels of customer satisfaction from students and parents using this method. In addition, several University applications and processes are already paperless or electronic.
E-mail and web based services have become primary ways to communicate on campus and throughout the world. Electronic billing continues this initiative and with the web culture that students have become accustomed to. This initiative also supports the University's commitment to a sustainable campus.
Do I have to be on eBilling? The University has designated electronic billing as the official means of generating tuition bills.
How do I print a paper copy of my bill? Students can print and distribute hard copies of their tuition bill for their family members or other payers assisting with their tuition payment. Students can contact bursar@shu.edu requesting a hard copy if necessary for a third party payer.
If I make a payment, can I immediately view it on my eBill? No. The eBill is a "snap shot "in time. Payments made to your account will be reflected on your next eBill. However, students can verity payments posted in real-time by logging onto your Pirate Net account. Under the My Info tab click "View and pay My Bill ".
What payment options are available? The University accepts e-checks and credit cards on-line. If paying with an American Express or Master Card a 2.3% convenience fee is applied to the amount charged. Visa cards are not accepted. Checks and Money orders can be mailed. Payments can be made in person in at the Bursar's Office in Bayley Hall. Checks, Money Orders and cash are accepted in the Bursar's Office.
