Tuition Payment Policy:
Prior to beginning the semester, all students must ensure that all financial responsibilities to the University are satisfied. 

As payment of accounts at Seton Hall usually involves both financial aid and direct payments, it is necessary for all students to handle these matters before returning to campus.

If this obligation is not met:

• you will only have access to your hall,
  
• your meal plan will not be turned on,
  
• guest and visitor privileges will be suspended and
  
• you will not have access to the recreation facilities.
  
  

If your account is still not settled by the end of add/drop, you can expect to be required to check out of your residence hall. If your plans to live on campus have changed, please notify us immediately so we can assign someone who is on our wait list.

Check your Account Balance:

1. Log in to PirateNet using your username and password.
   
2. Click on the "myInfo" tab
3. View your semester account summary by clicking on that specific term.
   

Additionally, students may obtain a copy of their bill from the Office of the Bursar.  Bills are mailed to the billing address on file and students are responsible for ensuring the address is accurate.
 
Tuition Payment Methods:
Students may use one of the following payment options to pay their bills:

• Mastercard
• American Express
• Check
• Electronic check or echeck
  
• Cash
• Money order
• Bank/cashiers check
  

Students can make a payment on-line using through PirateNet or by coming in person to Bayley Hall, room 121. 

Credit Card Payments:
All credit card and electronic check payments must be made online through Piratenet. Seton Hall University will only accept American Express and Mastercard. Student payments made with either an American Express or a Master Card credit card will be charged a convenience fee of 2.3 percent of the amount charged.

Electronic Check Payments:
As of July 1, 2009 Seton Hall University will be accepting electronic checks or echeck as an additional electronic payment option which carries no additional cost to the user.  This allows the student / family to convert their paper check into an electronic check that will automatically debit their checking account. This payment option is available via your PirateNet account.

Payment Plan Options:
TuitionPay, in cooperation with Seton Hall University, is an Interest-Free monthly tuition payment plan offered through Sallie Mae.

TuitionPay offers two types of monthly payment plans (1) long-term (10 payments per academic year) and (2) short term (4 payments per semester).  A nominal fee of $ 35.00 for the four month plan and $ 55.00 for the ten month plan is charged by TuitionPay.  

TuitionPay does not offer a payment plan in the summer term or during May intersession.

Students who default on deferred payment arrangements will be removed from current and/or future classes immediately upon default. Late fees will be assessed and continue to accrue until payment in full is received. 

Late Fees:
Payment in full is required by the bill's due date.  Any amounts unpaid after this date are subject to late fees.  A maximum of $250.00 per semester in late fees will be assessed to accounts unpaid beyond the due date printed on the front portion of the bill.   

Returned Checks:
Checks returned unpaid from a bank for any reason are subject to a $35 returned check fee in addition to late fees.  All students are notified with a letter of any returned checks received by the Bursar.
 
The student will not be allowed to re-register for classes until after the account is settled.   A registration hold will be placed on the student's record until the balance is resolved through an alternate payment method.  Alternate payment options are credit card, cash, money order or cashier/bank check.
