Reflecting on Life and Love with St. Gianna Beretta Molla

Gianna Beretta Molla was a wife, a mother, a physician and is a recently canonized saint. The retreat will examine her life of heroic love, and consider the ways her example is proof that all people are called to live lives of holiness regardless of one's state in life.
Speaker: Dianne M. Traflet, J.D., S.T.D., is Assistant Dean, Assistant Professor of Pastoral Theology and Founder and Co-Director of the Institute for Christian Spirituality.
Location: The retreat will be held in the Chancellor's Suite on the ground floor of the Bishop Dougherty Center at Seton Hall University, South Orange.
Fee: $10 which includes light refreshments and lunch
The retreat will consider the life of St. Gianna and the ways in which this professional woman and modern-day saint fought for life, embraced her faith and lived out her vocation as a loving wife and mother. We will also consider God's plan for marriage, the role of the Christian family in society and the importance of incorporating faith into daily life.
In presenting the love story of St. Gianna, we will show portions of a documentary about this inspiring women and we will have opportunities for faith-sharing and prayer.
