The Student Activities Board (SAB) is proud to announce the spring speaker for their SHU Speaks series. This March, SAB will host Cal Ripken, Jr., world famous baseball Hall of Famer and former player for the Baltimore Orioles.

Ripken played for the Baltimore Orioles as a shortstop and third baseman for 21 years. He is also well known for his philanthropic efforts, including founding the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation. The Foundation works with underprivileged children and gives them the opportunity to attend baseball camps and learn the game.  

Ripken's speech topic is "The Keys to Perseverance." He will speak on March 14 at 7 p.m. in the Main Lounge of the Bishop Dougherty University Center.

Tickets will go on sale at midnight on February 14 through eventbrite.com and will be available only to students. There is no cost for the ticket. On March 1, tickets will go on sale to faculty, staff, and other guests for $10.
