Food Truck Sandwich Competition Returns

Food TruckChiara's Creations Food Truck is having its annual Create Your Own Food Truck Sandwich Competition. Students are encouraged to submit a name and recipe for a food truck sandwich.

There will be a winning sandwich each week until Dec. 9. That sandwich sensation will be served by Chiara's for an entire week. Any student who submits a winning sandwich gets a free lunch from the truck. Weekly winners will be entered into a pool for a chance to win a $250 gift card to the Short Hills Mall.

The contest is already underway. Students are encouraged to submit their ideas right away!

"We at Gourmet Dining feel the contest is both a fun and engaging way for the student body to connect and be involved in our food truck," says Robert Frungillo, the Director of Dining Services here at Seton Hall University.

Last year, the contest received over 100 sandwich submissions. The grand prize winner was called "The Pirate," an overstuffed sandwich containing chicken tenders, french fries, brown gravy, mozzarella sticks and onion straws.

Seton Hall students have been loving the food truck ever since it rolled onto campus a few years ago. When asked about the food truck and the competition, Nick Hession, a freshman at Seton Hall said he thought it was a great idea. "I like being able to get something different every once in a while," says Hession.

Students can enter the contest by emailing Robert Frungillo with the name of their sandwich and its contents.
