In March, more than 70 students and alumni joined the Stillman School of Business and The Career Center for a very special event. “Careers in Supply Chain” was a first-time program designed for students to learn about the multitude of careers involved in supply chain management. The focus included the coordination of organizations, people, activities, information, and resources involved in moving products, services and funds from supplier to customer. Executives from Verizon, Ricola, Hackensack University Medical Center, JPMorgan Chase, Mars, Wakefern Bayer and Vanguard Logistics were in attendance.
Renu Ramnarayanan, Professor of Supply Chain Management summarizes the field as "a cross-functional area that includes managing the flow of goods, funds and information. Supply chain management integrates supply and demand management within and across companies. Information systems needed to coordinate these activities is also an important part of this integration."
Due to the success of the program, plans are underway to repeat this in the future as a part of our regular programming.
