In April, The Career Center took eight Seton Hall students on a road trip to Bentley Laboratories in Edison, NJ. The company formulates, manufactures, and packages a variety of products, including skin and hair care products, and fragrances. Bentley is certified to manufacture for major brands including Estée Lauder, Elizabeth Arden, Coty, L'Oreal, and a wide variety of niche brand marketers such as Bare Essentials, Bliss and Kate Somerville.
Two Seton Hall alumni led the students on a tour of the offices, laboratory, and factory, where they learned about the full lifecycle process of a product. Students received a brief overview of each area of the business, with specific emphasis on Research & Development. They discussed various types of chemical testing, analysis, and examinations that are done on each of the products. Brian Fitzpatrick, Owner and CEO (and also a Seton Hall alum), spoke with the students about the value of their education and shared his own story about how he built his career as an entrepreneur. He encouraged them to follow their passion as they create their own career paths.
There are currently 10 Seton Hall alumni working at Bentley Laboratories, and the students had an opportunity to meet a few of them. With a rich history of Seton Hall alumni working at Bentley Laboratories, The Career Center looks forward to the company’s continued partnership as they begin to recruit interns.
