John C. Whitehead, the School of Diplomacy's namesake, and
Ambassador Marc Grossman, the School's Tom and Ruth Sharkey endowed
visiting scholar, worked closely together during the Reagan
Administration. Whitehead was Deputy Secretary of State under George
Shultz, and Grossman was his executive assistant and later went on to
serve as Director General of the Foreign Service and U.S. Ambassador to
On Monday, March 3 at 4 p.m., Whitehead and Grossman sit down
together for an informal conversation about their compelling diplomatic
careers and the challenges facing American foreign policy today.
Seton Hall students and faculty are welcome to join the conversation
