His Eminence, Timothy Cardinal Dolan, the archbishop of New York,
will be the keynote speaker at the Archdiocese of Newark's 2014 Men's
Conference, being held at Seton Hall University Saturday, March 15.
Thousands of Catholic men from the northern New Jersey and New York
metropolitan area are expected to attend to hear Cardinal Dolan speak on
the theme, "Be Not Afraid."
This year, a new Young Adult Men's Track will offer presentations,
discussions, testimonials and prayer geared toward the concerns and
issues facing single and married men between the ages of 18 and 35. The
new program is being added to the Spanish-language program and the
English-language program that are offered each year.
President A. Gabriel Esteban will welcome the attendees and give an
overview of Seton Hall University and its Catholic mission. The Most
Reverend John J. Myers, archbishop of Newark, will close the day as the
main celebrant at Mass.
Many men who come each year to the Catholic Men's Conference for faith and fellowship are transformed by the experience.
"This conference is my spiritual tune-up every year," said Seton Hall
alumnus Jorge Repollet. "This amazing evangelization event has
provided the platform for me to grow in my spiritual life as a father,
brother, man in society and at work, and more importantly, as a
Christian man for others."
