Richard F. Keevey to Serve MPA Program as Visiting Lecturer

 Richard KeeveyRichard Keevey, appointed by two Governors as Budget Director and Comptroller for the State of New Jersey, will serve the MPA program as visiting lecturer and instruct a course concentrating on financial budgeting and effective governance.

Keevey served under President Clinton as Chief Financial Officer for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and as Deputy under Secretary of Defense for Financial Management. In the private sector he most recently served as Director of the Budget & Financial Management Practice at Arthur Andersen Consulting, LLP in Washington D.C and prior to that served as Director of Performance & Human Capital Management for the National Academy of Public Administration.

Keevey has taught graduate courses in public budgeting systems and organizational management at American University, University of Maryland, Seton Hall University, George Mason University, Rutgers University and Princeton University where he was Director of the Policy Research Institute. He is the author of 19 published articles on finance and management issues and has made presentations and chaired over 70 policy-oriented forums and colloquiums, including international venues. Keevey received his undergraduate degree from La Salle College and graduate degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have 3 children and 7 grandchildren.
