The Seton Hall University Chorus will join Jason Tramm, Assistant
Professor and Director of Choral Activities, and The MidAtlantic Opera
for Verdiana, a Bicentennial Tribute to Giuseppe Verdi, at the Great
Auditorium in Ocean Grove on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 7:30 p.m.
"It's exciting to get my students on the Big Stage where they will
get to work with a professional orchestra, professional musicians and
top-level soloists, some of the finest in the world. This is an
incredible learning experience to see how music works at this level,"
said Jason Tramm, artistic director for The MidAtlantic Opera.
The Seton Hall singers will perform with renowned soloists Sharon
Azreil Perez, Christina Major, Sara Murphy, Ronald Naldi, Jordan
Shanahan, and Jeremy Galyon. Previous singers who have performed on
this historic stage have included Enrico Caruso, Marian Anderson and
The program will explore arias and ensembles from Verdi's operas,
including Nabucco, Rigoletto, Un Ballo in Maschera, La Traviata, Il
Trovatore, Otello, Aïda, and La Forza del Destino, with a cast of more
than 150 musicians, soloists, chorus and orchestra members. It will
include a narration and multimedia presentation of Verdi’s life. A
percentage of the concert proceeds will be donated to help restore the
Great Auditorium roof of the historic 6,500 seat venue, which was
partially damaged by Hurricane Sandy. Read more »
