Beatriz Manetta, President and CEO of Argent Associates and Stillman alumna, was presented with the prestigious national Beta Gamma Sigma Medallion for Entrepreneurship at a dinner on campus last week.

Manetta was one of three nationwide winners of the prestigious award. The medallion is awarded to those who combine innovative business achievement and service to humanity. On hand to present the award were President Esteban, Dean Joyce Strawser, and Jim Viehland, the Executive Director of Beta Gamma Sigma.

Manetta founded Argent Associates, Inc. in 1998 as a Supply Chain Managed Services company focused on Telecommunications and the Technology Industry and now has several locations throughout the United States. In response to the demand for innovative technology, Argent created a Business Eco-System, inter-linking customers with their customers. Argent's client base includes Transportation, Utilities, Aerospace, and Government verticals. Argent Associates posted $107 million in annual revenues in 2011, a significant jump from $9.2 million in 2007. Today, the company has $1.2 billion in customer telecom assets and inventories and a national footprint with facilities across the country.

In addition to professional accomplishments, Manetta serves as a mentor and role model, particularly for minority and female entrepreneurs. She takes part in the Institute of the Economic Empowerment of Women mentoring women business leaders of Afghanistan and Rwanda. She is an active participant with the National Minority Supplier Diversity Council, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Women’s President Organization.

Both Manetta and her firm are known for their philanthropic activities, donating substantial time, resources and services to community organizations, local universities and underprivileged high school students.
