Inter-Professional Disaster Preparation for Health Care Students

On Tuesday, April 16, from 5-8 p.m., in the Labs at the College of Nursing, the Leaders in Healthcare will host a session dedicated to Disaster Preparation, Triage and Patient Care Simulation for all Healthcare students at Seton Hall University. Kathe Conlon, Burn Disaster Education Coordinator and at Saint Barnabas Health Care System and Jared Kutzin, an expert in Patient-Care Simulation, will be present to provide knowledge and feedback to students.

Attendees will:
* Learn to identify the roles that each profession can take in a disaster
* Know how to respond to various types of emergencies
*Identify the importance of teamwork and communication between healthcare disciplines
* Recognize the importance of preparing and drilling for a disaster
*Increase knowledge to improve patient, family and community outcomes as we move forward to be servant leaders
