3rd Annual Irish Mass and Dinner
Seton Hall > News & Events

Celtic CrossPirates of Irish Persuasion & Extraction (PIPE)—Seton Hall University’s Irish cultural society—and Seton Hall University Campus Ministry will sponsor the 3rd Annual Irish Mass, celebrated by Reverend Neil Xavier O’Donoghue, in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception on Seton Hall’s South Orange campus at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013. Parts of the Mass will be said in Irish, and parts in English. The musical selections for the Mass will include Irish-inspired hymns. After Mass, PIPE will sell hand-made rosaries, with proceeds to benefit the Missionary Society of St. Columban. All are welcome!

Following the Mass will be an Irish dinner, in the Main Lounge of the Bishop Dougherty University Center, featuring entrees from St. James Gate Publick House, Irish specialty desserts, step dancing performances, entertainment by a button accordionist, and door prizes. At the dinner, we will be joined by special guest Charley Rosen, FOXSports analyst and author of The Emerald Diamond: How the Irish Transformed America’s Greatest Pastime, who will give a short talk about Irish-Americans in baseball. A limited number of copies of Rosen’s book will be available for purchase, and Rosen will be available to autograph copies.

Join us for this evening of celebration of Irish heritage, the Irish contributions to American culture, and Catholic faith!

Tickets for the dinner and performance are $15 per person. Order your tickets for the dinner no later than Tuesday, April 9 via Please contact PIPE President Carlie J. Wheeler at or 732-763-7221 with any questions.
