Blackboard's New Content Editor
Seton Hall > News & Events

BlackboardThe newly designed Content Editor greatly improves your experience for adding text and other forms of digital content to Blackboard Learn. The Content Editor allows you to add and format text, insert equations and hyperlinks, tables, and attach different types of files to content. The editor appears anywhere content can be added/edited in Blackboard by both instructors and students.

What’s New in the Content Editor?

Blackboard Content Editor
  • Resolves previous issues with copying and pasting content from Microsoft Word - additional steps are no longer necessary and content won't 'break' mysteriously! You can now paste directly from any WORD document into this new content editor without all of the previous problems with formatting!
  • Content Editor text box can be expanded to a full page when you need additional space to add content.
  • Reads, writes and renders modern HTML. All of the same essential functions are still there, along with some enhanced new editing capabilities.
  • Includes a new math editor using mathML that simplifies writing equations in Blackboard - allows saving and copy/paste of equations using mathML

When will it be available?
The new content editor will be installed on Seton Hall’s Blackboard system on Sunday, Feb 10 during the university normal maintenance window of 12 a.m. – 7 a.m. Existing content to Blackboard courses will not be affected by this installation. You can preview the new Content Editor by registering for one of the sessions below (webinars are available).
