The School of Diplomacy is planning to offer DIPL 2114/6710: African Union Seminar during the Spring break -- March 1 to March 10, 2013. This tour will examine the African Union’s conflict resolution mechanisms, peace and security and development in Africa, as well as U.S. Security interests in Africa. During the seminar, students will have the opportunity to visit historical and cultural sites in Ethiopia, including Addis Ababa, Gondar, Lalibela, and Axum.
For the undergraduate course, the course will fulfill an elective requirement or a practicum requirement. For the graduate course, DIPL 6710, this course will fulfill requirements in the following specializations: Global Negotiations and Conflict Management, International Organizations (IO), International Security, Africa, or serve as an Elective. Tuition for this course is offered at a 25% discounted rate to offset the added costs of travel.
