26th Annual Many Are One Awardees
On Friday, June 8, 2012 more than 400 alumni, parents, students, faculty and friends gathered at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City to celebrate Seton Hall University and the achievements of her alumni at the school’s 26th annual Many Are One alumni awards gala. The event, which featured comedian Robert Klein as master of ceremonies and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members The Shirelles as entertainment, raised more than $70,000 for student scholarships.

This year’s event honored twelve outstanding alumni and celebrated the ways in which they have positively influenced our world. The evening included the presentation of the Most Distinguished Alumnus, Humanitarian and Alumni Impact awards as well as nine Many Are One Alumni Service Awards presented by the University’s schools and colleges.

Roger Dow ’68 was honored as the 2012 Most Distinguished Alumnus. Dow is the president and CEO of the U.S. Travel Association, the national umbrella organization headquartered in Washington, D.C. that represents all segments of travel in America, an industry responsible for generating $1.8 trillion in economic output annually.

John Castano, M.A. ’00 was named Humanitarian. Castano is vice president for operations and external affairs for New Jersey SEEDS, a nonprofit organization committed to developing future leaders from the state’s least privileged communities, ensuring they have the aptitude and access to thrive in the nation’s finest schools and colleges. Mark Ganton ‘91, former president of the Seton Hall Alumni Board of Directors, was honored with the Alumni Impact Award. Ganton is a principal of Brian J. Ganton & Associates, a multi-disciplinary branding and advertising firm founded in 1972 in New York City. View Mr. Ganton’s Many Are One introduction video »

“Many Are One is Seton Hall’s night to shine,” said Matthew Borowick ‘89/M.B.A. ‘94, the University’s associate vice president of alumni and government relations. “We highlight the achievements of so many Seton Hall alumni who take the lessons of servant leadership they receive at the University and use them as a foundation for their lives.”
